However, we rely on this is based on scholarly information passed down to us by two major German Bach Collected Works Editions: the first, commonly known as die BachGesellschaft-Ausgabe (The Bach Society Edition), published annually and serially from 1851 to 1900, and die Neue-Bach-Ausgabe (The New Bach Edition), issued 1954-2007. Both editions list numerous works about which there is considerable doubt of Bach’s authorship; those we at SlowBach.Com have scrupulously steered clear of recording. Also, four of Bach’s own sons became themselves well-known composers, but nothing that they wrote was in any way comparable to those of their father.
